Have you ever wanted to take a step back in time? Now you can, through RSR’s own interpretive history program, Chillicothe!
Chillicothe is a Rotary treasure. Unique among all Scout camps in the region, the Chillicothe area has been built to reflect a mid 19th century frontier encampment, complete with block house, teepee, and a forge building with a working metal forge. Scouts and adults who venture to Chillicothe will be transported to a long lost era in American history and will experience the tools and crafts of the time.
Chillicothe offers a number of programs for young and old that celebrate our nation’s heritage. Scouts may complete American Heritage, Indian Lore, and Metalwork merit badges, while the Backwoodsman and Advanced Backwoodsman programs offer Scouts and adults the opportunity to try their hands at unique frontier crafts, such as constructing a tin lantern from scratch.

Rotary Scout Reservation strives to ensure that a Scout has ample opportunity to complete all requirements for his chosen merit badges while at camp. Some merit badges, however, have requirements which are best completed before coming to camp. Links to the complete requirements are on the right.
